I was asked to review the new “Alex Pauken VS The World” project by MC Sykosis. This artist is a nerdcore/hip hop artist that prides himself on not taking his music too seriously. “Alex Pauken VS The World” is his first big project, and here are 3 tracks off this album. Each song on this album (these tracks included) is different and uses different flow plus instrumentation styles. For instance, the first song “Means Of Productions” is a very dark track with a massively effected hook…while “I’m A Spaceman” uses more poppy instrumentation and structure. Overall I enjoyed this album and think it’s pretty good for a first project with everything from the lyrics to instrumentation being done by the artist. As is my normal complaint with underground work, I just wish the mixing were a bit better. Many times I found myself wishing the lyrics were a pinch louder so that I could fully get what the artist was trying so hard to give to me. I give this album a 7.3/10, and found it both interesting and solid…what do you think?
